# Overview

> Working 1890 gymnasiums for RedM, on RSG or VORP: the Strawberry gym and your own, anywhere. 21 exercises, strength levels and muscle on the body.

RCO Gym is a working 1890 gymnasium for your RedM server. It comes ready in a house in Strawberry, with its own interior and its own equipment: benches and barbells, a squat rack, dumbbells, a pulley machine, rings, a climbing rope, punching bags and more. You can also build your own gyms anywhere on the map, station by station, or use only your own (see [Configuration](https://rust-co.mintlify.site/rco-gym/configuration.md#the-gyms)).

Players walk up to a piece of equipment, pick the load and train. Each exercise has its own minigame, every good repetition makes them stronger, and the muscle shows on their body.

## What players can do

> [card] Train
>
> Walk up to a station and press the key of the exercise. With a barbell, dumbbells or the pulley, choose the load first. Each exercise has its own minigame: one round is one repetition.

> [card] Get stronger
>
> Five muscle groups (chest, back, shoulders, arms, legs), each with its own level from 1 to 50, plus wind from the cardio exercises. The sum of the levels gives a title of the period, from Weakling to Champion.

> [card] See the muscle
>
> The body grows with the levels, little by little, on top of the look the player made in the appearance creator. Right after a set the trained muscle is pumped for a while.

> [card] Rest and warm up
>
> A tired muscle gives less: alternating the groups pays. A heavy load without warming up can strain a muscle, and then it can't be trained for a few hours.

> [card] Beat the records
>
> The record board on the wall shows the player's levels, how tired each group is, his records, the ten best of the gym in each exercise and the champion of the week.

> [card] Train together
>
> A friend can spot the bench press and save a missed repetition. The medicine ball is thrown between two players.

> [card] Hit harder, run longer
>
> Strong arms, chest and shoulders hit harder with the fists and melee weapons, and wind adds to the game's own stamina.

> [card] Train every day
>
> Each day in a row with at least one set gives a little more experience, up to +15%.

## How a set works

1. The load: the heavier it is, the more experience, but also the harder the minigame. Under half of the player's top load it gives almost nothing; from 70% of it, the full amount. The top load grows with the level.
2. The set is 10 repetitions. A good round counts a repetition, a missed one takes one away. With none left the set is lost.
3. A set counts from 5 good repetitions. Leave earlier and it gives nothing: no experience, no record, no tiredness.
4. At the end the player sees what he gained: experience per group, new levels, a new record, a new title.

## Good to know

* The database tables are created by the resource itself on the first start.
* The muscle on the body works with **RCO Appearance**, **RSG Appearance** and **VORP Character**. Without any of them, the player still gets stronger, but the body doesn't change. The gym never changes what the creator saved.
* Any human character can train, including a server's ped models. The muscle on the body only shows on the multiplayer bodies (`mp_male` and `mp_female`): ped models don't have the creator's body sliders.
* A muscle left alone for more than 7 days starts to shrink back to the body the player created. Regaining it is twice as fast.
* Everyone near the gym sees the others train: the plates on the bar, the dumbbells taken from the rack, the pulley weights.
* Light on the server: there is no loop running for each player. The work is done at the end of each set and when a player joins.
* Each gym is on the map with its own blip, and you can change its name and icon or turn it off.
* The equipment is solid: players can't walk through it, in Strawberry or in the gyms you place.
* When a new version is out, the server console tells you when the server starts.
